1) In heavy saucepan, melt:
1 stick butter
2) Whisk in and boil for 1 - 2 minutes until smooth and glossy:
1/2 C dark cocoa powder, sifted
1 lb. powdered sugar (confectioner's sugar), sifted
1/3 C milk (not skim)
3) Remove from heat and add:
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt
4) Frost cake while frosting is warm. This frosting is especially good as a middle layer forlayer cakes.
